Trinity Lutheran Church was the setting at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 1955, for the wedding of Miss Joyce Mrotek and Eugene Major, both of Milwaukee. A reception at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Mrotek, followed the double ring rites which were read by the Rev. John Pfohl. A supper was also served at the Mrotek home. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Major, Marion.
The bride’s gown had a lace bodice with long fitted sleeves and stand up collar. The skirt was fashioned with insets of lace and net. A lace crown beaded with seed pearls held her fingertip veil, and a white orchid centered a bouquet of white carnations and stephanotis.
Miss Carol Major, Green Bay, was maid of honor for her brother’s bride, and Miss Pat Krishka, Milwaukee, served her friend as bridesmaid. They wore identical gowns with the bodice featuring an off the shoulder neckline and blue crystalette torso with a bow at the back of neck and waist. Their flowers were pink and white carnations.
Duane Mrotek, Owen, brother of the bride, was best man and Louis Karpinski, Milwaukee, served as groomsman. John Mrotek, Loyal, the bride’s brother, and Henry Bowers Jr., Marion, cousin of the groom, ushered.
Miss Margaret Ann Rottjer was organist and Vern Dahlby sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Oh Promise Me" during the nuptial service.
The bride si a graduate of the Loyal High School and the groom graduated from the Marion High School. She is a secretary at the A.F. of L. Regional Office in Milwaukee, and the groom is a clerk at Plankinton Pac King Co., Milwaukee.
The bride chose a going away suit of navy blue with pink accessories and wore an orchid corsage. After a honeymoon in Canada they will live at 3426 A. N. Pt., Washington Rd. Milwaukee.
Mrs. Mrotek wore a navy blue dress with white accessories and Mrs. Major wore a tan dress with pink accessories.
Out of town guests were from Milwaukee, Marion, Clintonville, Kewaunee, Hawkins, Abbotsford, and Marshfield.
