North, Shirley Dawn (13 April 1935 - 27 February 2011)

 

Shirley Dawn North, 75, of Fairchild passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at home with hospice.

 

Shirley was born April 13, 1935, in Madison, daughter of James E. and Lucille G. (Smith) Mobry Sr.  She married Marvin O. North June 3, 1983, in Globe, and she worked as a certified nursing assistant. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe and then a member and treasurer of St. Paul’s Ladies Society in Fairchild. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting hats for military personnel and made clothes for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Shirley is survived by her husband, Marvin; seven children, three step-children; 28 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Don Mobry; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Robert, Steven and James.

 

A memorial service for Shirley North will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairchild, with the Rev. Ricky Bertels officiating.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
