Christman, John (11 MAR 1878 - 17 JUN 1955)
John Christman, 77, who had been in ill health for some time, died in Owen at 10 p.m. Friday, June 17, 1955.
Mr. Christman was born in Washington Co., Wis. March 11, 1878. He came with his parents to Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) when a young man 16 years of age. He was married to Elsie Emerson Trinrud at Loyal in 1924. She died in May 1928.
He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kilbourn, Milwaukee, Mrs. Kate Emerson, Wis. Rapids, Mrs. R. S. Scott, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Caroline Andraska, Loyal, and two brothers, Tony Christman, Loyal, and Peter Christman, Spencer. A sister and a brother preceded him in death.
A general rosary service was held at the Myre Funeral Home Sunday evening.
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Bertz officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were Frank Degenhardt, Lee Rueth, Ed Kreuser, Henry Vogel, William Theisen Sr., and John Elsinger.
Among those from away who attended the services were Mrs. Kate Emerson, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Panzer, and Mrs. And Mrs. Harold Andraska, Wis. Rapids; Peter Christman, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Andraska, Park Falls; and Mrs. Harvey Voight and Mrs. Joseph Brunke, Wauwatosa.
