Haas, Mary (Marriage - 27 May 1961)
Mary Haas, daughter of Mrs. Rachel Haas and the late Raphael Haas of Loyal, became the bride of Roger Feldt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Feldt, also of Loyal in a ceremony performed by the Rev. Norbert E. King in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Saturday morning. Approximately 200 attended.
The bride, attired in a floor length gown of silk, sheer organza-over-satin, was given in marriage by her uncle, E. A. (Bud) Bremer of Loyal. Her gown had a fitted Basque waistline, embroidered with sequins and pearls, a portrait neckline, with fitted sleeves coming to a point on the hand, and buttons down the back. Her very bouffant skirt with embroidered front panel extended to the floor. The side panels cascaded into the chapel train. She wore an elbow length veil of imported pure silk English illusion, attached to a double crown of jeweled Aurora Borealis crystals.
Miss Bonnie Bremer, a cousin, was her maid-of-honor; and Miss Marian Rogstad, a friend, and Mrs. Duane Stutle, a sister, were bridesmaids.
Ray Feldt, a brother, acted as the bestman. Ushers were Melvin Ayers, Tom Annen and Larry Reuth, friends of the groom, and Duane Stutle, his brother-in-law.
Luanne Haas, a sister of the bride, was flower girl.
St. Anthony’s Church choir sang the nuptial mass, accompanied by Sister Vera Marie.
A reception for 225 people was held following the ceremony at the home of the bride’s mother.
The newlyweds will be at home on a farm on Rt. 2 Loyal, following a honeymoon in the south.
The new Mrs. Feldt was graduated from Loyal High School with the class of 1960. She has been employed as a bookkeeper with a Marshfield concern. The groom, a 1959 graduate of Loyal High School, has engaged in farming since his graduation.
