Miss Jeanette Van Kirk of Humbird, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Van Kirk, was wed to James Christen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Christen of Hixton, Saturday at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. Car Serr officiating.
The church was decorated in green and white for the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride’s gown was fashioned of hand-clipped Chantilly lace over bridal taffeta, with a Sabrina neckline and long tapered sleeves, while a bow accented the taffeta hand detailed fitted Basque. Bow and band were repeated on the scalloped double-tiered bouffant, ballerina-length skirt. Her veil of imported silk illusion was held in place by a Swedish crown of pearls and sequin hearts.
She carried a bouquet of tiny red roses on a white Bible.
Mrs. Micky Sweinhart of Alburtis, Penn., sister of the bride was maid-of-honor. She wore a gown of candy mint green nylon organza over white taffeta, fashioned with a fitted bodice, with a bateau neckline, bow-looped sleeves, full skirt with white cummerbund. Back panels with bows detailed her street-length dress. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations.
Miss Karen Christen, sister of the groom, acted as bridesmaid and wore an identical gown to that of the maid-of-honor. She carried pink carnations.
Flower girls were Jodie Van Kirk and Penny Hause, nieces of the bride.
Bestman was Frederick Christen, brother of the groom. Groomsman was Calvin Van Kirk, brother of the bride. Ushers were Warren Van Kirk and Gary Christen. All wore white boutonnieres.
The bride’s mother chose a blue suit with white accessories and wore a corsage of white carnations. The groom’s mother wore a blue dress with white accessories and a corsage of white carnations.
Organist was Jim Duerkop, and soloist was Mrs. Will Theiler.
