St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood was the scene on June 17 of the wedding of Irene Marie Lindner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Lindner and Franklin Wilke, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Wilke, Pittsville. The Rev. Edward Hartung officiated.
The bride’s floor-length lace gown featured a panel of pleated nylon net down the front and her veil was attached to a cap. Her bouquet was composed of carnations and sweet William.
The maid of honor, a sister of the bride, Jacqueline Lindner, wore a pink strapless gown with full skirt and matching bolero. She carried pink and white peonies with white daisies.
Miss Mary Ann Wilke, a sister of the groom and Jeanette Lindner, sister of the bride, served as bridesmaids. They wore lilac and green colored gowns that were styled similarly to the maid of honor’s. Their bouquets were of white peonies and mixed flowers.
Andrew Lindner, Jr., cousin of the bride, served as best man while Donald Lindner, brother of the bride and Melvin Wilke, Pensacola, Fla., brother of the groom were groomsmen. Ushers were Carl Lindner and Reynold Lindner of Greenwood a brother and cousin of the bride.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s brother at 11 a.m. The groom, a graduate of Abbotsford High in 1948 attended the University of Wisconsin two years. The bride graduated from Loyal High in 1952.
The newly weds honeymooned in southern Wisconsin and now reside on his fathers farm on Pittsville route 2 where he is employed.
