Uhrig, Marliss (12 JUL 1955)

Now at home in Woodstock, Ill., are Mr. and Mrs. Harold W. Collinson, who were married at 8 o’clock, Tuesday evening, July 12, 1955, in the Loyal Methodist Church.  The Rev. Lee Holmes of La Crosse, assisted by the Rev. Charles J. Swanson, officiated at the ceremony, during which Mrs. Virgil Holmes of Neillsville sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Together."  She was accompanied by Mrs. Byron Zepplin.

The bride, the former Miss Marliss Janet Uhrig, is the daughter of Fred Uhrig, Loyal, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Collinson, Spencer.

The bride wore a waltz length gown of white lace and sheer nylon tulle over satin.  Featuring the bodice were a mandarin collar and long lace sleeves that came to points over the wrists.  Lace covered buttons fastned the bodice.  The bouffant skirt of shirred tulle was detailed with the lace insets.  Her fingertip veil fell in folds from a beaded cap.  Her cascade bouquet was of white carnations centered with an orchid.

Miss Emily Uhrig, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, and Mrs. Claire Schlinsog, Arpin, a cousin of the bride, as bridesmaid, wore matching lace jackets with the strapless net and white lace over orchid taffeta frocks.  Their colonial bouquets were arrangements of white mums and carnations edged with orchid to match their gowns.

The groom’s attendants were his brother, Leroy Collinson, who served as best man, and Claire Schlinsog, who was groomsman.  Hobart Uhrig, brother of the bride, and Lloyd Collinson, brother of the groom, were ushers.

A reception and luncheon for 100 guests in the church parlors, followed the wedding service.

The bride, a graduate of the Loyal High School, class of 1953, has been employed as a bookkeeper at the Berg Implement Co. in Marshfield.  Her husband, a graduate of the Loyal High School, class of 1949, is a veteran of four years’ service, three of which were spent in Germany.  He is now employed in Woodstock, Ill.

Their honeymoon was spent at Niagara Falls and other places of interest.

Out of town guests attending the wedding were from Woodstock and Mt. Carrol, Ill., Madison, Sheboygan, Mt. Calvary, Marshfield, Beloit, and Chili.
