Danen, Norman R. (25 JUN 1932 - 9 MAR 2011)


DORCHESTER -- Norman R. Danen, 78, of Dorchester, passed away March 9, 2011, at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield with his family by his side.


His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester with the Rev. S. Nathan and the Rev. Schaefer concelebrating. Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today with a Rosary Service at 4:30 p.m. at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow the service at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the Dorchester American Legion.


Norman was born June 25, 1932, to Clarence and Elsie (Schaefer) Danen in Medford. He was a graduate of Medford High School and served his country in the Army during the Korean War.


Norman was joined in marriage to Agnes Stoiber on Sept. 3, 1956, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. He worked as a press operator and maintenance for PCA in Colby for 42 years.


Norman enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and trapping, gardening, bowling, woodworking, and most of all spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Dorchester Lions Club, Dorchester American Legion, Catholic Order of Foresters, the Abbotsford Sportsmen Club and an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church.


He is lovingly survived by his wife, Agnes, of Dorchester; his children, Debbie (Steve) Voelker of Abbotsford, Diane (Tim) Ludwig of Stetsonville, Donna (Scott) Stange of Unity, Dale (Michielle) Danen of Dorchester, Denise (Brian) Dahl of Stetsonville and David (Terri) Danen of Stratford. Norman is further survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer Danen, Jessica Voelker, Julie (Jeremy) Linzmeier, Janelle Voelker, Jamie Ludwig, Andrew (Wendi) Ludwig, Matthew (Tara) Stange, Maynard Stange, Mariah Stange, Michael Stange, Tommy (Tania) Danen, Christal Danen, Amanda (Josh) Edwards, Brittany Dahl, Jordan Dahl, McKenzie Dahl, Jacob Danen and Dawson Danen; 13 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Dolores (Nick) Henrichs of Stetsonville and Arlene Handel of Medford; and his brother, Michael (Kathy) Danen of Stetsonville.


Norman was preceded in death by his parents; a son; and a brother-in-law, Roger Handel.
