Nowak, Harold B. (23 OCT 1918 - 7 MAR 2011)
ABBOTSFORD -- Harold B. Nowak Jr., 92, of Abbotsford, was born into
eternal life, Monday, March 7, 2011 at Ministry Saint Joseph's
Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, March 12, 2011, at
Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. The Rev. Dr. Paul C.
Hunsicker Sr. will officiate. A time of visitation will be held
from 10 a.m. until service time at the church Saturday.
Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Pine Hill Cemetery near
Curtiss. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is
assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Nowak was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Chicago, Ill., the son of
Harold Sr. and Martha (Braeutigan) Nowak. Harold was united in
marriage to the former Blanche M. Phillips on May 23, 1940, in
Medford. The couple was married for 62 years before she preceded
him in death on Dec. 10, 2002.
Harold worked most of his life as a dairy farmer in the Loyal area.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and time spent in the mountains. He
especially cherished the trips he took with his wife out West and
to Las Vegas.
Mr. Nowak is lovingly survived by his children, Marta Bohl, John
(Diane) Nowak and Bruce (Debrah) Nowak; grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He is further survived by three brothers,
Robert, Kenneth and Roland Nowak.
In heaven he is united with his parents, Harold Sr. and Martha;
daughter, Glenna; granddaughter, Doreen Hartman; son-in-law, Allan
Bohl; daughter-in-law, Betty Nowak; and his loving wife,
Blanche.
The family would like express their heartfelt gratitude to the
Palliative Care Staff at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital for the
wonderful care of their father. They would also like to extend a
special thank you to the Heart Failure Center and Dr. Peter
Smith.
