Janesville Settlement (29 June 1961)

Mrs. Paul Susa of near Loyal spent Sunday here with Mr. and Mrs. John Gatz and daughters.

Mrs. Emma Coryell and Mrs. Warren Gempler of Loyal spent last Monday evening with the Clark Hattons.

Mrs. Martha Meinholdt spent last week in Greenwood with the Frank Perusheks.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Arch entertained the following Sunday for dinner in honor of their son Billie’s first communion.  Mr. and Mrs. Emil Podobnik of Milwaukee and Mike Podobnik, Jr., of Greenwood, were guests.

Mr. and Mrs. John Baughman and Roger spent Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Clark Hatton.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Thomas and family spent Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nielsen.

Mrs. S. B. Flagg and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Eaton of Sund Prairie came Sunday evening from Wabeno, where they had spent the weekend at their summer home on Trump Lake.  Mrs. Flagg stayed for a visit with the Clark Hattons and Emma Bostwick.

Mr. and Mrs. William Vetterkind of Withee were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Seliskar.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nielsen entertained the following in honor of their son’s ninth birthday Thursday evening: Mr. and Mrs. Aage Nielsen and family, Mrs. Anna Nielsen, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schwarze of Owen.

Tuesday evening visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nielsen were Mr. and Mrs. Edw. Sloniker.

Mr. and Mrs. Emil Podobnik of Milwaukee were weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Arch and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Shefchik, and attended her sister Julie’s wedding at Greenwood.

Weekend visitors at the Henry Nielsen home were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Behringer and son of Stratford, Stanley Schwarze of Greenwood, Donald Schwarze of Beaver Dam, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cattles of Castle, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Boss and family of Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schwarze of Owen.

Mrs. Emma Bostwick and Mrs. Clark Hatton were Sunday dinner guests of mrs. Fred Barr in Greenwood.
