Humbird, Wisconsin (29 June 1961)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schrier of Minneapolis were weekend guests of their daughter, Mrs. Donald Boettcher.

 

Mrs. Hazel Scheibe entertained a group of ladies Saturday afternoon.

 

Those from here who attended the wedding of Miss Karen Hart in Eau Claire were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hart and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hartwig Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hart and Mrs. Angus Flood.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Clouse of Loyal were afternoon and supper guests in the Henry Laffe home Sunday.  Friday, Mrs. Pearl Clouse of Greenwood and daughters, Bonnie and Evelyn of Union Grove were here to spend the afternoon in the Laffe home.

 

Mrs. Phillip Schmitt and children who have been with her father for sometime, have moved to Exland, where her husband is depot agent.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Ness and family of Altoona came Saturday and were overnight guests of her father, Henry Stanley. They also attended the strawberry festival at Alma Center.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wallace left Saturday for their home in South Beloit after spending two weeks in the Danny Wallace home.  Mr. and Mrs. Earl Zimmerman left Sunday for their home in Springfield, Ill., after spending a two-week vacation with their daughter, Mrs. Danny Wallace.  On Friday night Mrs. Inga Rose and Ken Stien joined the group to help celebrate the Wallace twin’s birthday.

 

Jean Bishop was able to come home Sunday from the hospital. He is much better and hopes soon to be well.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gay McLaughlin of New London and Mrs. Jim Jeffery and children of Scott City, Kans., were callers Sunday in the W. F. Hein home.

 

Mrs. Albert Squires, with her sister, Mrs. Peter Herried, of Alma Center, spent Sunday with their sister, Mrs. Frank Short, in Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anger of Madison were guests on Friday at the John Anger home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Will Van Horn spent Monday afternoon at the Orvis Burnett home.

 

Merton Burnett and son, Dean, of Butler drove up Wednesday.  His father, Orvis Burnett returned home with them for a few days to help with some carpenter work.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Arndt and two boys of rural Neillsville spent Sunday evening at Dale Burlingame’s.  Dale is staying for few weeks and working on the tree trimming with his grandfather, Ed Aldinger.

 

Miss Nancy Slattery and Darlene Anger spent the weekend at John Anger’s from their work in Milwaukee.

 

Mrs. Joe Forsting, Buford Barkley and a friend of Riverdale, N. D., Mr. and Mrs. Willard Miller and three sons of West Salem were Sunday afternoon callers at Orvis Burnett’s  Wednesday afternoon Bert Hanby and Mary Dagnon were visitors there.

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Anger spent Saturday in Marshfield to attend Alice in Dairyland activities.

 

Mrs. Oscar Kleven and Karen of La Crosse were last week guests at the Gus Johnson home.

 

Mrs. Delores Silvers and family of Racine were guests at Peter Reinarts several days last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Fitzmaurice and daughter, Terry, of River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Don Subeck and daughter of Nebraska, and Jim Schmidt of La Crosse were weekend guests at Peter Reinarts.  Miss Helen Reinart was also home from summer school in River Falls.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pierce and son of Black River Falls were Wednesday evening visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Frank.

 

Jim Schmidt of La Crosse and Helen Reinart attended the wedding of Karen Hart of Humbird in Eau Claire Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Delano Anderson and sons of Poynette were weekend guests at the Alfred Frank home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Austin and children of Beloit are visiting in this area and spent the weekend at Gib Gile’s.

 

Mrs. Al Neumann and children of Chicago spent last week at Gus Neumann’s. Al came up from his work at the Dells to spend the weekend here with his family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Warner Honning of Indiana visited a few days last week at Gus Neumann’s. Walter Neumann of Chicago was an over night guest.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Hoffman spent some time in Milwaukee with their daughter, Dorothy Roeser, and attended the Wisconsin rural letter carriers convention.
