Erastus Bowen went to Colby Wednesday morning on business.
Theo. Withee too the train for LaCrosse Wednesday morning.
N.C. Foster was over Tuesday looking after his interests here.
It is reported that Lennie Shanks is the proud father of a baby boy.
George Vossler has resigned his position as clerk in the City Drug Store.
The John S. Owen lands in town 27-2 and 27-1 west, for sale by C.H. Clute.
Mrs. V. W. Chandler went to B.R. Falls Saturday for a short visit with relatives and friends.
E.T. Burch accompanied by Edna left Wednesday for Taylor to visit his mother and sister.
A boy was born July 14 to Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Brick, of the West Side.
A daughter arrived Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Zeph. Sanford.
Julius Sorenson and wife were down from Longwood Monday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Henry Bredeson.
Rev. L.C. Smith, D.D., of Oshkosh was in town Tuesday evening and attended a meeting of the Presbytery.
Dance at the Woodmen hall next Friday evening. The music will be furnished by the Greenwood orchestra.
Wm. Kuester and Miss Sorenson, of Withee, were over Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O.A. Anderson.
H. Hanson shipped two carloads of stock over the F.& N.E. R.R. last Monday, one to Milwaukee and one to Chicago, Mr. Searle going with the stock.
Miss La Prairie, who has been visiting her friend, Miss Jenkins, south of Twenty-Six road for the past few weeks, returned to her home in Calumet county Tuesday.
G.H. Palms went to Tioga Tuesday on the train.
Dr. K.W. Baker returned the first of the week from Chicago.
Mrs. Minnie Woodward and Etta went to Tony Monday morning.
Sam Severson and family and John Severson's family were over near Unity Sunday to visit Mrs. Severson's mother who is in very poor health.
Quarantine has been removed from the families of Chas. Cummings and Ed. Daugherty, the scarlet fever cases in each family having run their course.
Merrick F. Jenkins, representing the Oshkosh Times, was in the city yesterday. The Tuesday's edition contained an enterprising write-up of the town and its business enterprises, though it is subject to some severe criticism.
A social was held in the Baptist church last Friday evening for a study of the subject of state missions and a social time. A short program was given a good time enjoyed by those present.
The Presbyterian and Baptist churches united in a unison service Sunday evening. Rev. Collins preached from the text in Luke 7:50, "And he said to the woman, thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace."
While in Madison last week, the Gleaner man had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. T.A. Anderson who, with her two children, are living there. She is clerking in a large confectionery store, while Georgie is clerking in an adjoining store. She wishes to be remembered to her Greenwood friends.
Simon Schwarze carries a worried and anxious expression on his face these days and is eagerly inquiring for a cook. The cause of all this is that his wife and little son went to Fairchild last Thursday to visit her people.
