Cheney, Wayne G. (2 April 1941 – 29 January 2021) With Flag
Wayne G. Cheney, age 79, of Spencer, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at
his residence in Spencer.
Wayne was born on April 2, 1941 in Norwood, MA, the son of Boyd and Ruth
(Schneider) Cheney. He was a 1959 graduate of King Philip High School in
Wrentham, MA. Wayne enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably
discharged. He as a bus driver in Massachusetts, before moving to Wisconsin in
1981. Wayne drove truck for Roehl Transport in Marshfield from 1981 until his
retirement in 2004. His first marriage was to Sandra Dixon, she preceded him in
death and his second marriage was to Marian Jane Potts on December 19, 1986 in
Neillsville. She preceded him in death on September 17, 2000.
Wayne enjoyed riding his Harley and watching John Wayne movies.
Wayne is survived by his five children: Michael Cheney of Boston, MA, Robin
(Michael) Edwards of New Bedford, MA, Julie Cheney of Neillsville, Thomas (Loralane)
Cheney of Colby, and Tara Cheney of Fairhaven, MA; eleven grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife: Sandra and his second
wife: Marian; and a sister: Madelaine La Blanc.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Saint Thomas Catholic Cemetery
