Mummert, Linda Lou (Marriage - 1 July 1961)
Friends and relatives of Miss Linda Lou Mummert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mummert, Granton, and Darrel Ray Roder, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Roder, Loyal, gathered Saturday at the Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant, and witnessed their marriage performed by the Rev. Evan Dieck in a double ring ceremony before an altar adorned with baskets of mixed peonies.
William Chambers sang "Because" and "The Lord’s Prayer" accompanied at the organ by Miss Joanne Braatz.
Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was attired in a floor length gown of lace and tulle over a ruffled hoop skirt decorated with lace and appliqués edged with sequins on tulle. The fitted bodice featured a Sabrina neckline, trimmed with pearls and sequins and long fitted sleeves. Her finger-tip veil cascaded from a crown studded with sequins and pearls. She carried an arrangement of red roses and ivy.
Her matron of honor was Mrs. Le Roy Todd, and Miss Lois Mummert was her bridesmaid. They wore matching Street length dresses of blue flocked nylon over blue taffeta enhanced by matching cummerbunds with bows. They wore matching head pieces and carried a basket cascade arrangement of pink and white tinted carnations.
Miss Charla Mummert, as flower girl, was attired in a gown of white flocked nylon over a petticoat of ruffled lace fashioned with a blue satin cummerbund and a bustle bow trimmed with flowers. Her headpiece consisted of a white satin clip trimmed with lace and flowers. She carried a basket of tinted daisies.
Orville Roder was bestman. Le Roy Todd, Marshfield, and Merton Reckner, Spencer, were groomsmen.
The newly married couple will reside in Spencer on their return from a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin.
Mrs. Roder attended Granton High School and is employed in the Marshfield hospital. Mr. Roder, a graduate of the Loyal High School, works in a cheese factory.
