Adamec, Marian Christine (Marriage - 8 July 1961)
A nuptial high mass was read Saturday in St. mary’s Catholic Church uniting in marriage Miss Marian Christine Adamec, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Adamec, Rt. 2, Neillsville and Edward Arthur Genteman, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Genteman, Sr., Rt. 3, Neillsville. The Rev. B. T. Kelly performed the double r ing ceremony before an altar decked with baskets of pink and white gladioli.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor length gown of white nylon organza with full bouffant skirt and a chapel train. The fitted bodice was styled with a scoop neckline, trimmed with pearls and sequins, and three-quarter-length sleeves. Her fingertip veil cascaded from a pearl and sequin-trimmed crown. Her bridal bouquet consisted of red roses and white stephanotis entwined with greens.
Miss Mary Jane Janas, Northlake, Ill., was her maid of honor and Miss Theresa Schultz, Neillsville, served as her bridesmaid. Both attendants wore pink silk organza ballerina length gowns with full skirts, trimmed at the bodices with organza roses. The bodices were sleeveless and featured a "V" neckline. They carried bouquets of white carnations and pink roses.
Thomas Genteman of Neillsville was the groom’s bestman. John Adamec served as groomsman. Joseph Kiwak, Pittsville, and Robert Genteman, McHenry, Ill., ushered.
Wedding day events included a reception at the American Legion Hall in Neillsville, and a dance in the evening at Hatfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Genteman are graduates of Neillsville High School, she with the class of 1959 and he with the 1951 class. The bride has been employed in the Neillsville Bank, while her husband does construction work.
Guests came from Chicago, Ill.; Northlake, Ill.; Johnstown, Pa.; McHenry, Ill.; Ft. McClellan, Ala.; Marshfield, La Crosse, Milwaukee, Pittsville, Chili, and Humbird.
