Grant Township (20 July 1961)
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Pagenkopf and children of Platteville and Mrs. Harold Osborn and children of Cartersville, Ill., arrived Friday evening for a visit at the Clarion Counsell home. They came to see Commander Lee Counsell, who was home from Boston, Mass. He left Neillsville July 18. The Pagenkopfs also visited Mrs. Herman Pagenkopf and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Acheson.
Korney Repa of Chicago visited Mr. and Mrs. Wasyl Ponomarenko last weekend.
John Popow of Chicago is spending the summer at the Ponomarenko farm.
Lt. James W. Howard has arrived from Fort Benning, Ga., where he attended an eight-week school. His wife, Renata, stayed with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Verne G. Howard. They left Sunday for Fort Lewis, Wash., where he will be on active duty.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Opelt, Lyn and Larry, returned Sunday to their home in Hibbing, Minn., following a five-day visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Opelt and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Quicker.
