Withee, Wisconsin (20 July 1961)
The fire department was called to the farm home of Henry Luraas, three miles southwest of Owen, late Friday because of a fire which damaged his car quite badly. The fire was extinguished before it spread.
Mrs. Hazel Altenburg, with her sister, Mrs. Beaulah Rouse of Sparta, left Saturday by plane for Medford, Ore., to visit another sister, Mrs. Albert Zenzel, formerly of these parts. Mrs. Altenburg also expects to visit a friend, Mrs. Harriet Krom, formerly of Owen.
Mrs. George Jensen, the former Florence Christiansen of Withee, was found dead in the living room of her home in Marshfield last Wednesday. Many Withee folks will remember her.
A new parking lot is being filled in at the back of the Withee bank for the use of the employees at the present time and also between the bank and Hansen Mercantile store. This fills in the damage done by the recent sewer project.
