Stowe, Clara (16 January 1891 - 30 July 1961)

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Loyal Methodist Church for Mrs. Rufus (Clara) Stowe, 70, of Rt. 1 Unity, who died in a Marshfield hospital July 30.  Burial was made in the Town of Beaver Cemetery. The Rev. Ralph Koelemay of Spencer was in charge.

Mrs. Stowe had been a hospital patient for two weeks.

The former Clara Johnson, she was born January 16, 1891, in Rhinelander, and came to the Town of Green Grove with her parents when she was seven years old.  She was married to Rufus Stowe in Colby on August 21, 1913, and settled on a farm in the Town of Beaver.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three children: Mrs. Josephine Raatz of Unity; Mrs. Clarence (Florence) Broeren of Rockford, Ill., and Glen of Unity. Also surviving are a brother, Oscar Johnson of Colby; a sister, Mrs. Adel Gottschalk of Colby; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
