Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gregorich, Jr., have purchased the Hugh Christie Farm, south of Greenwood, and took possession August 1.
Mr. and Mrs. Gregorich and children, Joey, Patricia, David and Thomas, arrived a month ago from Guam, where he had been employed by a construction company. They stayed with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gregorich, Sr. Enroute from Guam they visited her parents in California.
The Hugh Christies have moved into the former Arleigh Syth house in Greenwood, which they purchased last year. It had been occupied by the Norman Mayenschein family.
Classmates and friends attended a miscellaneous shower Saturday at the Arthur Christie home in honor of Miss Sharon McConnell, whose marriage to Leland Mayenschein will take place August 5, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A lunch was served by the hostess, Miss Kay Christie of Madison.
Those from Greenwood, who attended the Hinker-Hendricks wedding at Thorp Saturday, were the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Hinker and family. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Greg Hinker, his grandmother, Mrs. Frances Gary and Cherly of Ossian, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hinker, formerly of Fort Sill, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Alex Loos and family of Loyal, and Miss Marlene Loos of Minneapolis.
Friends honored Mrs. Harlan Brux at a pink and blue shower Tuesday afternoon at the Brux home. A lunch was served by the hostesses, Mrs. Tony Lindner and Mrs. John Zepaltus. Others present were: Mrs. Oliver Kesler, Mrs. Adolph Abel, Mrs. I. J. Koschak, Mrs. John Jasurda, Mrs. Hugh Severson, Mrs. Frank Bayuk, Mrs. John Lindner, Mrs. George Scherer, Mrs. Eugene Carteron, Mrs. Cleo Maines, Mrs. John Kaltinger, Mrs. Dale Alt and Mrs. Walter Hohl.
The Ladies Aid Society of Trinity Lutheran Church held its annual picnic last Thursday afternoon at Greenwood Park.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart visited in Rochester Sunday with the Everett Humkes and Dr. Robert Van Keuren family of Prosser, Wash., who arrived in Rochester Saturday for a visit. Part of their vacation will be spent here.
Rev. Ethel Nulton, who spent from Monday until Wednesday at the Myron Kenyon home, will visit in Schofield with her daughter and family before returning to Waupaca.
Mrs. Rose Falkobage and son of Stevens Point visited Sunday at the Gilbert Meyer home.
Sunday dinner guests at the Arleigh Syth home were Mr. and Mrs. George Syth of Eau Claire and Mrs. Richard Parks and sons of Redland, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox and daughter and his mother, Mrs. Minnie Cox, and Jerald Kuester were Sunday guests at the Evelyn Cox home in Wisconsin Rapids.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crase and sons arrived Saturday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krultz. Mr. Crase returned to Blue River Sunday. His family remained for an extended visit.
Mr. and Mrs. James Horner of Milwaukee spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Brzezinski.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Abel and son arrived Friday evening for a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Meyer and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Abel. They attended the 10th anniversary reunion of Mr. Abel’s class of 1951 in Neillsville Saturday evening. Sunday they were present for the picnic held on the lawn at the Ted Abel home, in observance of the birthday of Gilbert Meyer. Others present were: Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Abel and family of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Abel and daughter, Janis. Mark remained to spend a week with his grandparents.
Mr. and Mrs. Greg Hinker, Gary and Cheryl, of Ossian, Ia., visited Saturday and Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Frances Hinker, and were Sunday dinner guests at the home of her brother, Sylvester Hinker and his family.
Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Erzinger and his uncle, Frank Lenz of Monroe, visited with William Horn Saturday and Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Slock of Eau Claire visited Sunday with her father, Theodore Humke.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bruckert and family of Milwaukee visited Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Stark.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kuester spent Sunday in Junction City with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Luther (missing lines) .
