Plautz, Philip M. (22 JAN 1934 - 22 MAR 2011)
GREENWOOD -- Philip M. Plautz, 77, of Greenwood died at his home
Tuesday, March 22, 2011, after a brief battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at
St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood. Burial will follow in Holy
Family Catholic Cemetery in Willard. Visitation will be at the
church Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Philip Manuel Plautz was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Neillsville, the
son of Steve and Alice (Robey) Plautz. After high school, Phil
worked at Plautz Brothers in Greenwood driving truck and entered
the U.S. Army Reserves. He moved to Milwaukee in 1954, where he
worked in construction as a truck driver. Philip served in the U.S.
Army Reserves from 1954 to 1957.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Johnson on March 18, 1989, in
Milwaukee. Phil was a truck driver his entire life. They moved to
Greenwood in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his children, Steve Plautz,
Diane (Paul) Traider, Becky (Bob) Pileggi and Bill (Liz) Nay; four
grandchildren; and two brothers, Floyd (Virginia) Plautz and Paul
(Rosalie) Plautz.
