Mr. Fricke and wife attended Easter services.

 

Birdene Anderson closed her school in the Braun settlement Friday.

 

A.F. Varney has been plastering a house for Ed Bowen at Longwood.

 

P.H. Cronin is moving his family onto the Henry Schwarze farm this week.

 

Word was received here of the death of Jos. Nesbit, who died at this home in Onalaska, March 28.

 

Nellie Anderson took the train for Unity Saturday, where she goes to resume school duties.

 

Mable Varney closed her school at Dorchester Friday and was accompanied hoe by Mr. Lamont Saturday.

 

Ella Cramer, who has been working in Greenwood all winter, is at home for a short rest, after which she intends to go to LaCrosse.

 

Jule Walters is up from B.R. Falls with a crew of men driving below the dam and A.S. Armstrong has a small crew at work at the dam.

 

The Easter services passed off fine. The hall was tastily decorated with appropriate mottoes and evergreens. Mr. Kloster gave a sort address and the children all performed their parts remarkably well.

 

Chas. Varney and wife drove to Loyal Friday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. VanAirsdale. They will make a short visit with Wm. Maddox, who is a brother of Mrs. VanAirsdale, before they return to their home at Saxeville.

 

Nettie Zaffke had a sad accident befall her the last day of school. She fell against the pump and broke her arm close to the wrist. Mr. Jaseph pulled the bone in place again and Dr. Barber finished the job. She is at present comfortable.
