Tifft, Betty Elwood (? - August 1961)
Funeral services were held August 5 for Betty (Bessie) Tifft, who died suddenly while visiting a friend in Santa Barbara, Calif. She was born in Neillsville 76 years ago. Her father at one time ran the Republican-Press, a forerunner of The Clark County Press, in Neillsville. She was the last of the Tifft family. Her only survivor is her nephew’s widow, Mrs. Rosamond French of Los Angeles.
She lived in Los Angeles 50 years, retiring a few years ago after years of activity as a saleslady at May Company. Following retirement she took a trip around the world.
Interment was made in Valhalla Cemetery, North Hollywood. Many former Clark County people attended the funeral.
