Papenfuss, George #3 (22 JUL 1879 - 6 JAN 1958)
This afternoon at 2:00 o’clock funeral services were held for George Frederick Papenfuss at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, Owen. The Rev. Charles Koch of Greenwood officiated, and burial was made at Pine Hill Cemetery, Curtiss. During the service vocal numbers were sung by Mrs. Donald Marshall, with Mrs. Maxine Christophersen accompanying her at the organ. Serving as pallbearers were H.K. Christensen, Solly Krause, Harry Olson, William Colby, John Miller and Frank Piekarski.
The deceased passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 1958, at his home in Abbotsford, following a stroke.
Mr. Papenfuss was born in Germany July 22, 1879, and came to this country with his parents at an early age. The family settled in the town of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.) . Mr. Papenfuss spent most of his life in the Colby-Abbotsford area as a carpenter. He was married at Colby on June 29, 1904, to Lena Marks, who survives him.
Other survivors are two sons, Henry Papenfuss, Chicago, Ill., Harold, Brookfield, Wis.; two daughters, Mrs. Sievert (Leona) Sjoblom, Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Herman (Irene) Krause, Greenwood, and five grandchildren.
