Vandenberg, Horace  (02 MAY 1889-? Sept 1953)

 

Horace Chris Vandeberg, 64, a lifelong resident of York township, died at 6 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born May 2, 1889, in York, and received his education at Oriole Hill School. On June 19, 1914, he was married to Fern Alton at Neillsville.

 

He was active in the community belonging to Odd Fellows Lodge No. 198, Neillsville, was a member of the board of the Farmers Union, a member of the York Center Methodist Church.

 

Surviving are his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Oscar (Bernice) Egger, Fond du Lac, and four sons, Harold, Necedah; Lloyd, Detroit; Gale, Appleton; Russell, Neillsville; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Boigt, and Mrs. Elmer Keller, York, and 10 grandchildren.

 

The funeral was held Monday at 2 p.m. at the York Center Methodist Church. The Rev. Willard Mechlenberg officiated. Burial was in the York Center cemetery.
