Garbush, Arthur (11 May 1876 - 30 August 1961)

 

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Arthur Garbush 85, of Neillsville, who died here August 30.  The Rev. Lloyd Mauer, of the Methodist Church, officiated.  Burial was made in the Town of Lynn Cemetery.

 

Mr. Garbush was born May 11, 1876, in the Town of Grant, the son of the late August and Paulina (Fiddler) Garbush. After finishing his education in the Town of Grant schools he worked in the woods.

 

On November 4, 1899, he was married to the former Bertha Jensen in Marshfield. They farmed in the towns of Lynn and Fremont.  He retired in 1952 and moved to Neillsville.

 

He is survived by the following children: Lee Garbush, Loyal; Mrs. Edwin (Violet) Barth, Chili; and a foster son, Albert Masephol of Pittsville; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Bertha) Jensen, Granton; and two brothers, Albert Garbush, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Edward Garbush, Eugene, Ore.; and six grandchildren also survive.

 

Pallbearers were:  Elmer Swenson, Andrew Wolf, George Wolf, Gilbert Lawrence, William Gerlach and Carl Rosenberger.  Miss Sheri Drescher sang, "Shall We Meet Beyond the River" and "Sweet Bye and Bye".

 

People from away here for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Lee Garbush and daughter, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Barth and children, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Swenson, George and Andrew Wolf, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Masephol and family all of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jensen, Walter Steinbach, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Steinbach, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kleinschmidt, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Lawrence, Ludwig G. Faber, Mrs. Herman Bartsch, Mrs. LaVerne Schier, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Reidel, and Mrs. Charles Prust, all of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Masephol and family and Mrs. Robert Ure, Pittsville.
