Tolford, Philomene (22 JUN 1929)
Among the numerous June weddings in this vicinity was that of Miss Philomene Tolford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Tolford, and Mr. Francis Joseph Conway, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Conway of Lyndon, Wis., which took place on Saturday morning, June 22, 1929, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in this village.
The bride was charmingly gowned in silk organdy over crepe satin, and wore a veil and carried a bouquet of white and butterfly roses, swansonia and baby's breath. Miss Dorothy Tolford, sister of the bride, who acted as maid of honor, was attired in green organdy gown and carried pink roses, lavender and sweet peas, while Miss Catherine Conway, bridesmaid, sister of the groom, was tastily dressed in lavender and carried a bouquet of pink roses and forget-me-nots.
The groom was attended by his brother, Robert Conway, Father A. M. Muckerheide officiated at the nuptial high mass. Two solos by Miss Eleanor Clough of Menasha, were sung, accompanied by Mrs. A. W. Yaeger of Antigo, aunt of the bride, who also played the wedding march from "Lohengrin."
The attendant was Robert Yaeger of Antigo and ushers were James Tolford and Arthur Kenney.
The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and Superior State Teachers College, and has been engaged in teaching in this village and Menasha.
After a short honeymoon trip to the big cities the worthy couple will be "at home" here (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) , the groom, who is cashier of the local Farmers Exchange Bank, having already provided a modernly equipped home for their comfort.
