Drescher, Lydia (2 February 1874 - 7 September 1961)

 

Funeral services were conducted Monday for Mrs. Lydia H. Drescher, 87, Rt. 1, Neillsville, who died at her home Thursday.  The Rev. Lloyd E. Mauer officiated at services from the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Drescher, daughter of the late Louie and Lena (Jahr) Drescher, was born February 2, 1874, in Washington County. She came to Clark County with her parents as a child, was educated here and lived most of her life in the Neillsville area. She had been ill since May of this year.

 

On October 1, 1903, she was married to the late Julius Drescher, who died in 1926.

 

Surviving are three children: Daniel Rt. 1 Neillsville; Mrs. Arthur (Nina) Korth, Lake Mills; and Mrs. Emil (Hattie) Korth, Ft. Atkinson. Five sisters also survive.  They are: Mrs. Hulda Seefeld, Van Dyne; Misses Anna, Emma, And Jennie Drescher, all of Neillsville; Mrs. Florie Turvey, Baldwin Park, Cal. Ten grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren also survive.

 

Pallbearers were: Vernon and Robert Drescher, Virgil Lezotte, Robert E. Seefeld, Walter Korth and Leonard Meyer.  Flowers were carried by Mrs. Eileen Crossman, Miss Alice Korth and Mrs. Virgil Lezotte.

 

Sheri Drescher sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Nearer My God to Thee" accompanied by Mrs. T. N. Thompson.

M. Seefeld, West Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Drescher, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Seefeld, Mrs. Hulda Seefeld, Van Dyne; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Meyer, Elk Mound; Mrs. Harry Schlinsog, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mortimer, Mrs. Louise Schlinsog, Mrs. Milford Rowe, Mrs. Ed Voight, Mrs. Loren Hales, Mrs. Robert Spiegel, Ed Jahr, and Mrs. Harold Schlinsog, all of Granton; Walter Korth, Fort Atkinson; and Miss Dorothy Korth, Lake Mills.
