Glasshof, Elizabeth "Betty" (6 August 1924 - 4 March 2011)
Elizabeth "Betty" (Hoffman) Glasshof, 86, of Palm Coast, Florida, beloved wife for 65 years of William, went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 4, 2011, surrounded by her family. Born in Paterson, New Jersey August 6, 1924, daughter of the late Herman and Viola Hoffman, she was raised and lived in New Jersey. Betty graduated from St. Mary’s Grammar and High Schools. She worked for several years in the Paterson area as a bank teller and beautician. She married William in 1946 upon his return from service in the Second World War. She and her husband lived in northern New Jersey for over 40 years, and were active in the Pentecostal Light House Church in Paterson until their move to Palm Coast, Florida in 1984. Betty was a kind and generous person with a strong faith she shared eagerly with others.
Besides her husband, she leaves her three daughters: Elizabeth "BG" Zietz of Simsbury, CT, Barbara Lynch and Beverly and Daniel Hryciak of Chester, VA; ten grandchildren whom she adored: Erica and Michael Baldwin, Max and Erin Zietz, Sara Lynch, Hanna Lynch, Joshua and Kristin Hryciak, Alexa Hryciak and Zachary Hryciak; two great-granddaughters: Annie and Charlotte Baldwin; and one great-grandson yet to arrive, Baby Zietz; one sister and brother in law: Dorothy and Joseph Gondola; three sisters in law: Evelyn Ricksham, May Hoffman and Agnes Hoffman; and two brothers in law: John Glasshof and Gerald and Maxine Glasshof. She was also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Marie O’Neill; and her two brothers: Francis Hoffman and Raymond Hoffman.
Family and friends were invited to a Memorial Service on Sunday, March 6, 2:30 p.m. at the Church on the Rock, Bunnell, FL. The Rev. Bruce and Marlene Laurent officiated. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
