Beyer, Edna (2 April 1917 - 20 September 1961)

 

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Mrs. Walter (Edna) Beyer, 44, of Neillsville, who died Wednesday in University Hospital, Madison, after an illness of two months. The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Beyer, deputy clerk of the circuit court, and wife of Neillsville utility commissioner, was born April 2, 1917, near Neillsville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tews.  She received her early education in St. John’s parochial school in Neillsville and was a 1934 graduate of Neillsville High School.

 

She was married May 4, 1956, to Walter Beyer in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

 

Mrs. Beyer is survived by her husband and four children: Gordon, Nancy, Karen, and Gary, all at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tews, Neillsville; two sisters, Mrs. John (Nina) Koss, Milwaukee; Mrs. Wilbert (Velda) Kalsow, Neillsville; and two brothers, Arthur and Edgar Tews, both of Neillsville.

 

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Mother’s club of St. John’s parochial school.

 

Pallbearers were: Thomas Flynn, Robert Smukal, Herbert E. Blum, Walter Kozlowski, L. P. Heimstead and Gordon Thur.  Two hymns, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Beautiful Savior", were sung by Janice Greeler, accompanied by Victor Lehman.

 

Out of town people here for the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. John Koss, Mr. and Mrs. John  A. Koss, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis M. Carroll, and Miss Rose Oehlke, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Oehlke and Willard Oehlke, Exland; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Meihack, Mrs. Bertha Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Spiegel and family, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Ritschke, Mrs. Louise Ritschke, and Mrs. Augusta Roberts, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Luedke, Neshkoro; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Tews, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Seig, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Klingbeil, Princeton; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Beyer and family Stoughton; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thur, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thur, Fairchild; Mr. and Mrs Harland Kuhl, Mr. and Mrs. John Gluch, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Braatz, Eau Claire; and Mrs. Henry Harder, Greenwood.
