Thorp, Wisconsin New Post Office (Dedication - 23 September 1961)

A full  program, with four speakers and appropriate ceremonies, marked the dedication last Saturday of the new Post Office building at Thorp.

Clark Paulson preside as master of ceremonies. Welcome was extended by Mayor Jos. T. Tobola.  Addresses were made by Francis J. Conway, president of Thorp Finance Corporation; Vernon K. Peterman, postal installation manager; and Frank L. Nikolay, Clark County Assemblyman.

The building was completed and occupied July 1, but the dedication had been set forward in order that the band of the Thorp High School might participate.

The building is of a definitely modern type, with front of 60 feet and depth of 40 feet. All of the furniture and equipment is new.

The building is owned and leased to the government by Herman H. Miller of Green Bay, the low bidder.
