Gorst, Gregory (20 October 1881 - 27 September 1961)

Word has been received here of the death September 27 in Mazomanie of Gregory Gorst, 79, former resident of the Neillsville and Humbird areas.  He died in a Madison hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Gorst was born October 20, 1881, in the Town of Perry, Dane County.  He farmed in the Neillsville and Humbird areas from 1918 until 1946, when he returned to Mazomanie.

Funeral services were held September 30, from St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Mazomanie, with the Rev. Thomas C. Lourin in charge. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Survivors include Mrs. Gorst; four daughters, Mrs. Herman (Gertrude) Mayer of Humbird; Sr. M. Roseen (Marie) Breda of Iowa; Iona of Madison; and Dorothy of Vinita, Okla.; two sons, Vincent of Granton and Robert of Genoa City; a sister, Mrs. M. W. (Imelda) Hiney of Superior; two brothers, Frank of Humbird and Joseph of Chula Vista, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
