Eppers, John (12 AUG 1880 - 30 MAY 1958)
John William Eppers, 78, and a resident of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) for the past 58 years, passed away at 6:30 Friday evening at the home of his son, Arnold Eppers, at Chili.
Funeral services were held at 9:30 Tuesday morning, June 3 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, with a brother-in-law, Father Savage, of Antioch, Ill., saying the requiem mass. Father Crubel conducted the rosary services that was said on Monday night at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers were James Devine, Lionel Thiebert, Melvin Koplitz, William Warns, Emil H. Hansen and Minas Munson. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
John William Eppers was born Aug. 12, 1880 at West Bend, Wis. He and Josephine Pearl Savage were united in marriage in a ceremony performed at West Bend on May 10, 1899. In 1900 the couple moved to Withee, living there one year before moving to Illinois, where they resided eight years, and then returned to Withee where he had made his home ever since. His wife preceded him in death, passing away June 30, 1955, as did a daughter, Alice Piper, who passed away Oct. 16, 1947.
Surviving are two sons, Arnold of Chili and Leslie of Racine, and 13 grandchildren.
