Pleasant Ridge (2 November 1961)
All from Pleasant Ridge who hunted pheasants in South Dakota a week ago have returned home, all with their limit.
A Mink Field day was held Sunday at a farm near Stratford. Those from this area attending were Dale and Floyd Short and their families; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Short, and Mrs. Glenn Short and children.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Drescher were hosts Saturday evening to their sheepshead club. Prizes were merited by Mrs. Bob Kunze, Mrs. Walter Larsen, Calvin Gerhardt and Roy Suckow.
Glenn Short and Tommy, Walter and Norbert Embke, accompanied by Fred and Robert Meilke of Marshfield, spent the weekend bird hunting in South Dakota.
Mrs. Walter Larsen, accompanied by Mrs. Allen Crockett of Shortville, attended a state meeting of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Monday in Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larsen were Thursday evening visitors at the Bill Meihack home.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jansen entertained relatives and neighbors Monday evening honoring his mother, Mrs. Fred Jansen, on her birthday. Cards, furnished the evening’s entertainment.
Miss Elsie Wolf and Miss Gretchen Hauser spent from Thursday to Sunday in La Crosse with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lau, Potter, and Mrs. Arlene Schlinsog, Milwaukee, were weekend guests of their father, Walter Schlinsog.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Timmerman, Phillipsburg, Mo., are spending two weeks with their daughter, Mrs. Fred Jansen and her family.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hemp of Globe were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarion Counsell.
