Paul, Raymond W. (July 29, 1917 - March 4, 2011)
Raymond W. Paul, 93, of King, formerly of Owen, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.
Raymond was born July 29, 1917, to Robert and Mary (Brehmer) Paul in the town of Hoard.
He attended Park School in the town of Hoard until eighth grade. In his early years, he hauled dirt and gravel to make roads for the county.
Raymond was in the US Army from 1941 until 1945, where he served in New Guinea and the Philippines.
After his discharge, he drove gravel truck until he and his brogher, Otto, started Paul Brothers Trucking.
He retired in the early 1980’s, moving to Phillips. He resided in the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King since January, 2000.
Raymond enjoyed going to auctions for big equipment, which he fixed and resold. He also enjoyed deer hunting and musky fishing.
Raymond is survived by his brother, Wilmer (Alice) Paul, Medford.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer, Otto, Art and Norman; and two sisters, Lorraine Kurtzheim and Lila Edwards.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011,
at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Visitation will be
on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral
home. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery in Withee
with full military rites conducted by the Owen and Lublin American
Legion.
