Holmes, Janet Marie (Buss) (1940?- March 4, 2011)

Janet Marie (Buss) Holmes, 71, Owen, died Friday, March 4, 2011. 

She was born in Longwood to Oscar and Esther Buss.

Janet married Lawrence Holmes on April 2, 1966, and they worked together on a turkey farm in Wisconsin before moving to Florida to manage orange groves. 

Janet enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, making crafts, word games, playing her accordion and listening to polkas. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence and her son, Mark Allen Holmes.

Janet is survived by a brother, Robert Buss, Cameron; sisters, Carol (Dale) Raatz, Colby, and Diane (Chris) Lulloff, Owen; daughter Karla Carrillo; and three grandchildren. 

There was a memorial service march 12 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Lake Placid, FL.
