Withee, Wisconsin (30 November 1961)
The Owen Kiwanis club honored the Owen-Withee faculty at their annual banquet at the Woodland Hotel November 13. The Kiwanis club president introduced Elwyn Roberts, superintendent of schools, who in turn introduced the faculty. The staff of 47 is the largest on record this year, as pointed out by Mr. Roberts.
The Future Homemakers of America were served a potluck dinner Tuesday night last week at the Junior High School.
Otto Engel of Rt. 2, Withee, was in Minneapolis Thursday.
Mrs. Minna Engel visited her brother, Paul Szymiczak, in Wausau from Tuesday until Friday last week.
The Women’s Society of Christian Service of the Methodist Church met last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Lester Himes.
Family night was held recently in St. John’s Lutheran Chruch.
Hixon Heights Homemakers met at the home of Mrs. Adam Olszewski, northwest of Withee, last week Tuesday.
Mrs. L. H. Munson held a piano recital at the Withee Junior High auditorium Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. A. C. Little and daughter, Joanne, went to Neillsville Tuesday evening to attend a meeting of Job’s Daughters.
John Wenzel is in a Marshfield hospital, where he underwent surgery.
The Good Neighbor club met at the home of Mrs. Archie Norris last Thursday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zivney of Owen visited in Abbotsford Thursday and went to Greenwood Friday, where they were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kenyon.
