Lee Keller returned to Minneapolis, Minn., Saturday after spending the holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Keller.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Simard and Bruce Carl, Kenosha, were overnight guests Saturday at the Harry Carl home. They took part in the final day of deer hunting.
The Rebekah Lodge met Wednesday evening. The birthday of Elmer Keller was observed.
Mr. and Mrs. John Carl and son, Mark, Racine, who spent 10 days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carl and family, returned home Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ehlers and Jeffrey of Green Bay spent Thanksgiving day at the homes of Mrs. Eva Grottke and Linda and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ehlers and family. They also celebrated the birthday of Mrs. Jerry Ehlers on that day.
Sgt. Norman L. Sischo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sischo, and his wife were here on a 10-day furlough from Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. They spent Thanksgiving day (missing words).
Ted Janicki got his buck hunting in Dewhurst Saturday.
Bob Gassen of la Crosse brother of Matt, got a buck Saturday hunting near Bert Todd’s in Sherwood.
Irvin Marg, Art Krause, Everett Skroch and Lowell Gress of Neillsville, Curtiss Zschernitz of Green Lake and Bob Skroch of Independence got bucks last weekend.
Henry Markwardt of Neillsville reports six deer hunters from Cambridge and Jefferson, who stayed with them last weekend, took home three bucks Sunday evening.
A hunting group, consisting of Jim Jordahl, Matt Gassen and son, Garald Hart, and Ralph Bauer and son, all of Neillsville, bagged four deer during the first two days of the season. They hunted in the Sherwood area.
Ed Holub and son, Mike, Town of Levis, were two lucky deer hunters. Mr. Holub bagged a spiked buck Saturday, and Mike got an eight pointer Sunday.
James Rahn and Earl Zille, hunting with Louis Slock of Eau Claire, Henry Rahn, Harold Zille and Tony Hantke got their bucks Saturday hunting near Pray.
John Bertz and John Ringstad of Neillsville shot bucks Saturday. Bertz had his at 7 a.m. in the Town of Mentor.
Art and Edgar Tews got bucks Saturday hunting in the Town of Mentor.
Morris Blodgett, Carl Eisentraut and Stuart A. Lathrop are hunting near Winter and making their headquarters at the Blodgett cottage.
Wayne Wegner, 13-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wegner of the Town of Seif, shot a buck Saturday while hunting with his father near Tioga. Wayne is in the eighth grade in Worchel School.
Bob Tresmer and son, Wayne, of Marshfield got bucks in the Town of Mentor Saturday.
Bernard Klueckmann of Strum and Bobby Garbisch of Wausau, hunting with Marvin Ziegler in Tioga each got a buck Saturday.
Glenn Short, Earl and Alfred Magnuson got bucks in Jackson County last weekend. Dale Short got his in Sherwood Saturday.
A 185 pound, eight-point buck was shot Saturday morning by Mrs. Roberta Davis of Watertown in the Columbia area. Mrs. Davis is the daughter of Mrs. Edith Braatz. The antler spread was 17 7/8 inches.
Lavern Jung of Fort Atkinson visited Mrs. Edith Braatz in Neillsville last weekend and was successful in downing a four-point buck in the Columbia area.
