Wedl, Susan  (Abt. 1876-02 NOV 1953)

Mrs. Susan Wedl, 77, died Monday, Nov. 2 at 9:40 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been a patient for a few weeks. Her death was caused by a cebrebal hemorrhage.

Mrs. Wedl, whose maiden name was Beaver, was born at Jefferson. She came with her parents to this vicinity when she was six years of age and for 71 years has been a resident here. She married twice, her first husband, Samuel Leabel, died in 1908 and Joseph Wedl died in 1942.

She is survived by three children, Father Pius Leabel of Sierra Madre, Calif.; Mrs. C. A. (Isabel) Gross, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Perry (Nora) Voight, Loyal.

Five brothers and one sister survive Mrs. Wedl, George Beaver, Granton; William, Ed, Bernard and Matt of Loyal, and Mrs. P. J. Schmitz of Compton, Calif. There are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Seven brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were helkd in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church here at 9:30 o’clock Thursday morning, with her son, the Rev. Pius Leabel, C.P. officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
