Sturtz, Cassie Marie  (23 OCT 1901-? NOV 1953)

 

Mrs. Howard Sturtz, Sr., 52, died of a heart attack at 2:15 Sunday afternoon while a guest at the Raymond Kalsow home near Neillsville.

 

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Myre Funeral Home by the Rev. W. M. Mecklenberg. Burial was in the Forest Hill cemetery, Greenwood.

 

Mrs. Sturtz, formerly Cassie Marie Gray, was born at Viroqua, Oct. 23, 1901. When about 18 years of age, she moved with her family to Greenwood. She was married to Howard Sturtz, Sr., at Greenwood, Feb. 23, 1923. They lived on a farm near Greenwood till 1927, when they moved to Loyal, where they since resided.

 

She is survived by her husband, four children, Mrs. Norman (Bernadine) Miller, Granton; Howard Sturtz, Jr., Marshfield; Donald Sturtz, Milwaukee, and Carol at home. Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gray, Loyal; two brothers, Alfred Gray, Loyal, and Roger Gray, Readstown; and three sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Mabel) Reineking, Rio; Mrs. Kenneth (Edith Stafford, Waupaca, and Mrs, Melvin (Helen) Parrish, Tomah, and six grandchildren. One child preceded her in death.
