Johnson, Nina (8 DEC 1901 - 7 AUG 1958)
Miss Nina Johnson, age 56, passed away on Thursday Aug. 7, 1958, at the Lutheran Hospital in Beaver Dam. She suffered a heart attack. She was born Dec. 8, 1901 on the family farm and lived there until her mother’s death in 1930. She was baptized and confirmed in the evangelical Lutheran Church here. She lived with her sisters and brothers until 1946 when she went to live at the Northern Colony Hospital at Chippewa Falls. About five years ago she went to the Dodge Co. Hospital at Juneau. She is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Anna Hendrickson, Torrington, Wyo.; Mrs. Tillie Lapp, Abbotsford; Mrs. Minnie Johnson, Rice Lake; Mrs. Clara Olson, Moose Jaw, Canada; Mrs. Otto (Mabel) Kind, Greenwood; two brothers, Jacob of Curtiss and Albert, North Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, Aug. 11, from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home at Owen. Burial was made on the family lot in the Curtiss Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Tanner of Greenwood officiated. Mrs. Floyd Buchanan and Mrs. Alfred Thompson, accompanied by Mrs. Tovio Kallio, sang "Rock of Ages" and "Beyond the Sunset." Pallbearers were nephews, Wesley Stephens, Clarence Stephens, Lyle Johnson, Orlando Kind, Otto Kind Jr., and Myron Brecke. Flower carriers were nieces, Mrs. Orlando Kind, Mrs. Earl Schiszik, Mrs. Otto Kind Jr., and Mrs. Lyle Johnson.
All her sisters except Mrs. Clara Olson from Canada were present at the rites. Among others from away attending were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hendrickson, Mr. and Mrs. John Stewart, Torrington, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kind Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Kind, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kind Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Huim and daughter, all of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rasmussen, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Stephens, Marshfield; Mrs. Chester Stephens, Spencer; Mr. Tom Hein, Mrs. Paul Fish of Rice Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson, North Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Warren Banks and son Kenneth of Waukesha; Mrs. James Skinner, Bloomington; Mrs. Fred Machett, Albuquerque, N.M.; and many others from Abbotsford, Owen and Curtiss area.
