Nielsen, Elmer (15 SEP 1892 - 18 AUG 1958)
Funeral services for Elmer Nielsen, 65, retired Big Sandy area rancher, died Monday, Aug. 18, 1958 at a local hospital at Fort Benton, Mont. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 20 from the Benton Funeral Home at Fort Benton, Mont.
Nielsen, who had farmed 39 miles east of Big Sandy since 1916, retired in April 1957, and moved to Fort Benton. He was born Sept. 15, 1892 in Chicago, Ill.
Nielsen was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Big Sandy American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. He and his wife, Lena Mae, were married June 21, 1932.
In addition to the widow he is survived by a daughter, Helen Marie Carlson of Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Marvin Elmer Nielsen, stationed with the Army at Parkersburg, W. Va.; a step-daughter, Lucille Nielsen of great Falls; two brothers, Andrew of Havre and Clarence of Maysville, Wis.; a sister, Julianna Frietag of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and three grandchildren.
