Brezic, John (10 May 1884 - 17 January 1962)
John Brezic, 77, Greenwood, died at his home at 9:30 p.m. January 17 after a lingering illness.
Mr. Brezic was born May 10, 1884, in Yugoslavia. He came to the United States in 1907 and settled in Pennsylvania. In 1912 he moved to Milwaukee and was married there on May 11, 1912, to the former Mary Marinsek. In 1914 they came to Greenwood and lived on a farm west of here until his retirement in 1951, when they moved to the city.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, the Slovenian National Benefit Society and the K. S. K. J. Society of Willard.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Lamovec of Willard; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Jerry Brezic of Elkins, West Va.; and a sister and two brothers in Yugoslavia.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Edward Hartung officiating. Burial was made in the Holy Family Cemetery in Willard.
Pallbearers were: Robert Gorenc, Stanley Volovsek, Frank Laken, John Stancar, Tony Gosar and Ignatz Sladish.
People from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gorenc, Mrs. Anna Marinsek and Mrs. Joseph Udovich, all of Sheboygan; Mrs. Robert Schwartz of Hales Corners; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gorenc of Madison; and friends from the Willard, Owen, Thorp, Marshfield and the Loyal area.
