Wagner, Raymond George (May 12, 1921 - April 7, 2011)
Raymond George Wagner, 89, Owen, died on Thursday, April 7 at his daughter's home in Lannon, while under hospice care.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Nazareth Church Cemetery in Withee.
Raymond Wagner was born on May 12, 1921 in Gildford, Mont., to the
late Ernest Nicholas and Martha Ida (Peche) Wagner.
He grew up on a farm in Whittlesey and in his youth worked as a cook's helper with his father at a logging camp.
On May 15, 1943 in Medford, he married M. Violet Neuenfeldt, who
survives.
They moved to Owen in 1944. He was employed at Western Condensing Company, now Kerry Ingredients, and they built and operated Wagner Feed Mill for over 30 years. They also owned Ray Wagner and Son Trucking Company Inc. and multiple turkey farms. He later drove semi truck for Autumn Transport until his retirement at the age of 76.
In addition to his wife, survivors include five children, Carol
(Jeffrey) Krogmann of New Berlin, Allen (Diana) and Connie
Wagner-Ryba, both of Owen, Marcia (Bud) Johnson of Lannon and Tammy
(John Hurley) of Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Wagner and
Kimiko Wagner; 10 grandchildren, Kirstin (Steve) Shuda of New
Berlin, Kevin (Akmaral) Krogmann of Moscow, Russia, Lara
(Brandon Cox) Krogmann of Mesa, Ariz., Sean (Mindy) Wagner of
Abbotsford, Jason (Tracy) Wagner of Owen, Bryan (Justine) Ryba of
Shakopee, Minn., Nathan Ryba of West Point, N.Y., Marissa (Brad)
McCallum of Milwaukee, Christopher Johnson of Lannon and Nicole
Hurley of Winneconne; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four
brothers and three sisters.
