Vine, Jane (Speaking Contest Winner - 1962)
Jane Vine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Vine of the Town of Grant, will represent Clark County in the annual area soil and water speaking contest.
She won the County contest, and a five dollar award, with her talk on "Water, are We Running Out?" Jane is a student at the Kurth School in the Town of Grant. Her teacher is Mrs. Lavonne Bartsch.
Second place and a three dollar cash award went to Rhonda Mattson of the Park School, Curtiss: and third place and a one dollar cash award to Keith Paul, also of Park School. Their teacher is Alfred Hatlestad.
Each of the 13 boys and girls who participated in the County finals was awarded a blue ribbon.
