Mr. and Mrs. Robert James Nelson, who were married Saturday, Oct. 25, 1958, in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, will make their home at 3286 South Wolff St., Denver, Colo., after returning from their wedding trip on Nov. 8.
Mr. Nelson is an employee of the United States Government and is the son of Mrs. Mary Nelson of Denver and the late Ben Nelson. The bride, the former Barbara Ruth Allen, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).
Officiating at the 9:30 ceremony was Rev. H. L. Crubel.
For her wedding, the bride chose a gown of antique peau de soi which was fully lined with pellen and fashioned with a sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice was trimmed with illusion lace, iridescent sequins were used for trimming the bodice and outlining the neckline. Her elbow length veil of imported English silk was attached to a shell half hat. She carried a colonial bouquet of white mums.
Mrs. Edward Knoll Jr. attended her sister as maid of honor. She wore a gown in waltz length of leaf green iridescent taffeta, the bodice was fitted. The bandeau was of pleated tulle on a velvet clip. Bronze mums composed her colonial bouquet.
The bride’s brother-in-law, Edward Knoll Jr., was best man.
Immediately after the ceremony, a breakfast was served in the Holy Rosary parish hall, at 12:30 a wedding dinner was served with tables beautifully decorated with mums in autumn colors of bronze, white and yellow.
The bride attended the Owen grad and high school. After graduation she enrolled at St. Mary’s School of Nursing at Wausau, and graduated with the class of 1955.
Guests attending the wedding were from Madison, Livingston, Colby, Marshfield, Stratford, marathon City, Mercier, Wausau, Schofield and Birnamwood.
