Bogumill, John S. (26 JAN 1895 - 30 JAN 1959)

 

Bogumill, John S. (John S. Bogumill, 64, employee of the Thorp Finance Corp., died Friday evening in Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley following a brief illness.

 

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.  The Rev. Herbert Hoffman officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

 

Mr. Bogumill was born Jan. 26, 1895, near Thorp.  He was employed by the Kickbusch Co. of Wausau before accepting a position in the special accounts department of the Thorp Finance Corp. two years ago.

 

He was president of the Thorp Rod and Gun Club and a member of the gun club in Stanley.  He also was a member of the Lions Club and the Moose Lodge, the Knights of Columbus, the Foresters, the Holy Name Society, and the Polish National Alliance.

 

He is survived by his wife, the former Jeanette Huls; two sons, Clabybourn Bogumill, Thorp, and James Bogumill, Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Ann) Brandsness, Paramus, N.J., and Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Turenne, Thorp; 17 grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Charles Herman, Mrs. Thomas Polnaszek, Mrs. John Huls, Mrs. Robert Hulls, Mrs. Robert Blazel, all of Thorp; Mrs. Stanley Manicke, Hartmond; Mrs. Vilmonte Stoker, Madison, and three brothers, Edward Bogumill, Thorp; Thomas Bogumill, Chicago, Ill., and Frank Bogumill, Eau Claire.

 

One daughter, Rosella, and one brother preceded him in death.
