Fitzl, Margaret (21 February 1921 –4 February 1962)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. John Fitzl, 40, Rt. 2 Greenwood, were held February 7 from Out Savior’s Lutheran Church.  The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.  Mrs. Fitzl died Sunday, February 4, of injuries suffered in an accident January 31 on Highway 73 north of Greenwood.

 

Mrs. Fitzl, nee Margaret Johnson, was born February 21, 1921, in Stanley. She received her education in Stanley schools and was married in Thorp July 5, 1938, to John Fitzl who survives. After their marriage they lived in Thorp and Donald, and in Illinois. In 1946 they settled on a farm southwest of Greenwood.  She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

 

Mrs. Leslie Johnson and Mrs. Richard Thompson, accompanied by Mrs. Arvid Myhrwold, sang, "God hath not Promised" and "The Lights of Home".

 

Pallbearers were: Aage and Henry Nielsen, Jake Barr, Ernest Baughman, Peter Korntved and Robert Schoengarth.

 

Besides her husband she is survived by: three sons, Milton and Dennis, at home, and Richard of Fort Knox, Ky.; three daughters, Mrs. DeForest (Marjorie) Odell of Hebron, Ill., and Donna and Beverly at home; a grandson; her mother, Mrs. Edna Johnson of Stanley; her grandmother, Mrs. William Hoyt of Milwaukee; five brothers: Robert Johnson of Woodstock, Ill., Arnold Johnson of Greenwood, Elmer Johnson of Stanley, Donald Johnson of Walworth, and Everett Johnson of Sheldon; and three sisters; Mrs. Orneal Johnson of Stanley, Mrs. Elwold Arneson of Dorchester, and Mrs. Robert Zehrzewicz of California.

 

Attending the funeral from away were: Richard Fitzl of Fort Knox, Ky.; Mrs. Edna Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Orneal Johnson and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. William Ecker, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jonson and son all of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Hans Johnson and sons of Woodstock, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson of Fontana, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. DeForest Odell of Hebron, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Johnson and sons of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. James Arneson of Dorchester; Everett Johnson of Sheldon; LaVerne Johnson of Alden, Ill.; Dean Johnson of Harvard, Ill.; and Duane Johnson of Union, Ill.
