Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Dyre and daughters, and Donna Olson attended the wedding of their nephew, Allan Quast, to Barbara Wepfer, in Whitewater.  They were joined there by Mis Colene Dyre of Chicago.  The Dyre family was Saturday and Sunday guests of Mrs. Martin Quast and family in Milwaukee.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Geisler and son were accompanied by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Soellers of Thorp, to Campbellsport, where they spent a few days with relatives. Tuesday they attended the golden wedding celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Soeller of Campbellsport.  Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Geisler of Owen cared for the residents at the home for the aged, during their absence.

 

Contributions from members and other people interested in the project to send new and used clothing and school supplies to children in the Philippines may be brought to the meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Monday evening at the Legion Hall. Woolens or high heeled shoes cannot be used. Clothing for children from infants to the age of 18 years is requested.  Hostesses will be Mrs. Fred Behrens, Mrs. Jake Barr, Mrs. Frieda Ampe and Mrs. O. J. Amundson.

 

A central Wisconsin ministerial meeting was held Tuesday at the United Church in Colby. The Rev. Joe Grand Lienard, the assistant secretary of the Wisconsin Council of Churches, spoke.

 

Dennis Wilding, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Zell and a student of Greenwood High School underwent surgery Sunday morning at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.  His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Buford Wilding, returned to Milwaukee Sunday afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kenyon left Monday evening for Florida to spend several weeks with their son, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Kenyon and family of Eau Claire, Mich., who are spending the winter there.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson and her mother, Mrs. Christ Keiner, and daughter, Louise, were Sunday guests at the Frederick Gotz home in Pittsville, where they helped Mrs. Leonard P. Leberg of Appleton celebrate her birthday.  Others present were: Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Leberg and sons of Appleton, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Albrecht and daughter of Arpin, and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Leberg and children of Wisconsin Rapids.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Vinger spent Tuesday in Milwaukee.

 

Mrs. Edward Hanson has returned to Marshfield after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. William Hanson and with Mrs. Carl Lindner and family.

 

Frank Volovsek, Sr., of Willard underwent surgery Friday in Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Berthold and daughter spent Sunday in Stetsonville with her mother, Mrs. Rollin Williams.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jerrold Kuester of Eau Claire spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox and Mr. and Mrs. George Kuester.

 

Mrs. Meda Decker was dismissed Saturday from the hospital. She was there a week.

 

Mrs. Ernest Elmer, Mrs. Orville Oswald and Mrs. Oliver Kesler, members of the Come and Know Homemakers, Tuesday visited the school for retarded children at Owen and took cookies and crackers for a treat.

 

Monica Brux entertained classmates Saturday afternoon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Brux, in celebration of her 10th birthday.  Guests were Mary Kuchenbecker, Jean Plunkett, Darlene Fontaine, Kathy Klinke, Linda Susa, Sandra Thiel, Sandra Wittman and Gail Carteron.

 

Sunday dinner guests at the Calvin Franz home were Mr. and Mrs. Lorris Dusso and son of West Bend, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Reineking and children of Colby.  The Dusso family spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Dusso and her father, William Goeke.

 

Claude Severson, who entered Memorial Hospital at Neillsville Saturday, was taken Tuesday to the veterans’ hospital at Madison.

 

Mrs. Ida Nicoson moved Saturday into the Hinker apartment.

 

Mrs. Allen Wuethrich entered University Hospital, Madison, Wednesday morning of last week. Miss Diana Wuethrich remained at the hospital with her aunt.

 

Friends of Jeffrey Walters helped him celebrate his sixth birthday last Thursday afternoon at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Walters.
