Ackerman, Mary (25 OCT 1871 - 21 JUN 1959)
At 10:00 o’clock this forenoon funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in the Town of Holway for Mrs. Mary Ackerman. Father Freize of Stetsonville officiated with burial being made in the parish cemetery. A rosary services was held Wednesday evening at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, Owen.
Serving as pallbearers were Alvin Ostland, Archie Hamm, George Hamm, George Hamm Jr., Walter Maki and Charles Rahn.
Mrs. Mary Hamm Ackerman passed away at 12:00 noon Sunday at a hospital in Superior. She had been hospitalized since suffering a fractured hip several weeks ago. At the time of her accident she was making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Inez Ostland at Superior. Prior to that, however, she had resided in the Town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.) for 65 years.
She was born Oct. 25, 1871, at Slinger, Wis. On July 24, 1895 she married George Ackerman in a ceremony performed at Medford. He preceded her in death, passing away in 1950.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Inez Ostland of Superior, two sons, Archie and Joe, both of the Town of Hoard; one sister, Mrs. Enoch Hemphner of La Crosse; 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
