Murphy, Alice H. (10 JAN 1903 - 13 AUG 1959)
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Roy Murphy on Sunday August 16 at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home with the Rev. J. R. Stone officiating, and burial was made at the Riverside Cemetery. Carcinoma of the liver was the cause of her death which occurred at the Medford Hospital on Aug. 13, 1959, at 8:00 o’clock in the evening. She reached the age of 56 years.
Pallbearers were herb and Arlie Thompson, Jack Kazor, Bruno Schindler, Joseph Jascor and Bud Halbacker. In charge of the floral offerings were Carol and caroly Thompson, and the Forest Grove 4-H girls.
Alice Harriet Murphy was born Jan. 10, 1903, at Davenport, Iowa. She married Roy Murphy on the 25th of Aug. 1929, at a ceremony performed at Medford. They then settled on a farm in the Town of Maplehurst. To this union two sons and eight daughters were born.
For the past two years Mrs. Murphy suffered ill health. In June she underwent surgery at the St. Joseph’s Hospital and had been home but a short time before being returned to the hospital at Medford where she remained the last two weeks of her life.
Survivors are her husband Roy; one son, Clifford of route 2, Owen; eight daughters, Mrs. Bernard (June) Clouse, Loyal; Mrs. John (Norma) Drinka, Abbotsford; Mrs. Ed Brzezinski (Thelma) of Krakow; Mrs. Kenneth (Velda) Schnelty, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Bernard (Helen) Earon, Mosinee; Eleanor, Patsy and Grace at home; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wilcox and Mrs. Dorothy Luvdy, both of Da..
